Providing Educational Grants to Young People in Exeter
We are an educational charity providing funds to Exeter School, The Maynard School, Exeter’s Church of England Schools and small grants to local individual students.
Who We Are
We are one of Exeter’s oldest charities established around 1220.
The Foundation (or Trust) is run by a board of 12 Governors who are appointed by Devon County Council or Co-opted by the board of Governors of St John`s and The Right Worshipful The Lord Mayor of Exeter is an Ex Officio Governor. We administer an endowment fund which produces income from which grants are made.
The Foundation appoints/nominates Governors to the governing boards of Exeter School, the Maynard School and other governing bodies/charities.
Our Criteria
Applications for grants for individuals must comply with either of the below criteria and must also satisfy the Governors both as to how the grants will be spent and the educational benefit obtained.
Are under the age of 25 who have at any time attended as pupils of a secondary school in Exeter
Are under the age of 18 who are single parent families who live within 15 miles of Exeter Guildhall
